QUESTBOARD
⋆✩ quests ✩⋆
One of the core responsibilities of guild members within Bottlecap Bay is to complete quests from the Questboard. Located in the center of the city, the questboard is a physical board where Pokemon can submit requests for help, resources, exploration, and all sorts of things. Each quest rewards characters with points to not only increase their member ranking, but also raise the guild ranking, thereby having a direct effect on the direction of the game!
QUEST TYPES
LIGHT QUESTS
These quests are simpler, RNG-style quests that are far more straightforward and don't require a summary or a thread! Light quests are available every month, but during TDM months, they are the only type of quest available, meaning that nothing plot heavy or significant will be placed into the quests. They also only reward 50 points to characters.
HEAVY QUESTS
Heavy quests are more intensive, thread-required quests that often hold bits of plot or more intrigue, and are only available every other month. They are also often more dangerous than light quests, and unlike light quests, are not guaranteed to be completed when submitting for them! Sometimes you can fail these heavy quests, and in that case, no points are rewarded. But depending on the results, these quests can reward anywhere from 100-300 points each!
ALL QUESTS
So what do all quests have in common? Difficulty levels, determined by the filled in stars on a scale of 1-3, with three filled stars being the most difficult. Difficulty can mean anything from physical danger to intensive puzzles, depending on the quest! All quests must also be submitted by the deadline date on the quest itself. Quests of both types can have different amounts of teams allowed to claim it, and the number of teams allowed will be listed per quest. Lastly, players can feel free to roleplay any of the NPCs that are not listed on the Locations page under the NPC section! If it's not game breaking or contradicting of anything in the information available to players, then we generally play by the "do what's most fun!" rules.

CHARACTERS: Courier Six, Siffrin
QUEST: The Best Offense
SUMMARY: Dragonites are large and strong. Shinxes are... not that! But both are determined! Siffrin and Courier Six will be helping rebuild the outer walls; in the meantime, Courier Six will be trying to (and Siffrin will be encouraging him to) practice flying. So if there are any wall patches that need to be glided down to to repair, they're your duo!
PLAYERS: Merlot, Terry
CHARACTERS: A.B.A, Siffrin
QUEST: Heads or Tails
SUMMARY: A.B.A isn't recovered enough this month to go on a heavy quest, but surely a little bit of investigation will be just fine...? Nice and low-key? Surely. Either way, Siffrin and A.B.A will be trying to track down Zweilous. If it's possible to get any information about where Zweilous was last seen, Siffrin in particular may be trying to track them down by scent - and may try to rope A.B.A into doing the same. Otherwise it'll be standard asking around and tracking! (For some reason, while the two are talking amongst each other, they will keep calling the Zweilous "Weedle"... don't worry about it.)
PLAYERS: Mega, Kibi, Terry, Capnport
CHARACTERS: Akechi, Shoka, Siffrin, Technus
QUEST: Bounty: Mystery Ghosts
SUMMARY:
Overall strategy:
- Disorientation/mood swings: Shoka and Technus are here to be the unaffected members of the party and balance out the other two, who might be more affected! Akechi and Siffrin will be susceptible, but both are forewarned about what to expect and will be trying to keep a cool head.
- Imposters: Everyone is pretty well aware of the imposter Pokemon at this point, so there's no reason for them not to go in with pre-arranged code words! (In addition, due to the memory share rain, several of the characters know secrets about each other that haven't been spread widely! So that's something else imposters won't be able to answer.)
- Pitfalls: As long as anyone doesn't get trapped in a full-on cave in, this group has quite a few ways of dealing with the pitfalls! First and most obviously, Akechi and Technus can fly/float; Akechi can also very specifically Fly and airlift someone out of a pitfall/cavern if necessary. In addition, Siffrin has Volt Switch, which will let them swap with other people - so as long as a drop isn't ridiculously long, Siffrin can juggle people around until only those who are able to fly out are down in a pit. (It's even possible they'll be able to do it mid-drop!)
- Navigation: Siffrin's been learning to navigate by scent from Firepaw and practicing it a lot themself, so at the very least it shouldn't be hard to backtrack when necessary! In addition Akechi and Technus can both float up (to whatever the limits of fog visibility are) and call out directions based on what they see.
- Battling:
- This team is going to have an unusually large focus on movement control! Akechi is able to use Tailwind to speed everyone up, and Scary Face to slow enemies down. As of this month, Siffrin has learned Electroweb and can also slow enemies down - potentially placing that down on the ground to hit enemies that are hard to target directly. There's also the aforementioned Volt Switch, which will let Siffrin juggle allies around to more advantageous positions! (Particularly in combination with their Quick Attack to get to enemies quickly!) And on top of that Technus has Electroweb too! More webs for everyone!
- Shoka will be using Double Team to try to out-imposter the imposters; while her copies aren't able to talk or attack, just look like her, they are excellent decoys! She'll also be leaving unattended decoys around looking injured to see if anything attacks them... which will be useful for catching more imposters! (And, of course, she has the Mimikyu Disguise ability to absorb at least one nasty hit for either herself or a team member.)
- Shoka and Akechi in particular have been practicing battling a lot and will be quick to pick up on which moves do and don't work... and Shoka especially has quite a few Fairy-type moves she's been working on! Which... should hopefully be helpful... 👀 While Akechi has a nice combination in Hone Claws + Power Trip, is able to use Leer to weaken enemy defenses, can potentially flinch enemies, and has Roost for healing himself. Siffrin and Technus, meanwhile, both have moves with a chance of paralyzing enemies.
- Akechi will be bringing along a stash of berries to assist in recovery! Siffrin will contribute the ones they've gotten from previous quests as well.
Potential complications and/or advantages:
- Siffrin is particularly prone to memory inconsistencies/hallucinations, but has a lot of practice continuing along despite them and handling it. After their Middle Forest exploration, they've also experienced some pretty bad forest/fog hallucinations that specifically pushed a lot of their buttons... so they're extra prepared this time. It could go either way with them.
- Shoka and Akechi very recently made up from a big ol' teenager fight, so while they're getting along again now, there may still be some tension.
- The team is going to have to be careful not to get tricked by Shoka's own decoys, though the lack of talking/action should help with that!
- Potentially, after seeing Siffrin with Volt Switch, Akechi will figure out how to use the very similar U-turn... which means even more movement control!
- As it turns out, Shinx can also learn Play Rough. So potentially, if Fairy-type moves are indeed helpful, Shoka can give Siffrin a very quick crash course!
- If Volt Switch/U-turn only work on allies, then there's another way for the team to detect imposters. If Volt Switch/U-turn work on anyone you can see, it opens up some very nasty options as far as swapping enemies into places they don't want to be!
- Siffrin is... going to be unusually vicious with any imposter of themself. This might be an advantage or disadvantage depending on the circumstances.
- Technus is Very Specialized, aka he only has Electric type moves right now. Here's hoping there's no Ground types to deal with...
- Siffrin and Technus both participated in team-building exercises in the May TDM, and would have the "stronger while defending team members" accessory reward!
THE BEST OFFENSE
Rebuilding the wall is back-breaking work, although the assistance of larger and stronger Pokemon always helps. Each member of the team is expected to either place bricks, apply mortar or ferry supplies to the other workers. While there's room for talking, a few of the senior teams heavily encourage saving your breath. And while there's nothing wrong with helping out other teams, there is an expectation that your first priority is helping your own team-mates. After a few hours, the team has added a sizeable chunk to the outer walls! For their hard work, each member is rewarded with 50 points! Thanks for your help!
HEADS OR TAILS
It's a little scary, isn't it? To hear about a Pokemon that's gone missing. The gap of memory where once-familiar faces once resided is heavy, despite being a hole, and this situation feels vaguely familiar if only for that reason. The team must work together to find the necessary clues that will point them in the correct direction! Through their various methods, this is what they uncover:
⟡ Zweilous was last spotted swimming into the ocean.
⟡ You now know more about this type of Pokemon (such as its appearance, footprints when applicable, sounds it makes, etc).
⟡ Zweilous was last heard saying something about recovering what was lost.
⟡ Traces of the missing Pokemon were found in various locations, indicating a trail.
⟡ They're going to leave me behind.
That was weird... As you all were gathering notes, that last bullet point slipped out. But did someone say it? Did it occur as a simultaneous thought? No one seems to remember.
Not to worry, though! As that eerie feeling is shaken off, inspiration or realization hits the group, and they're able to find exactly where Zweilous has wandered off to! It's floating in the waves. Zweilous can be found there, sleeping soundly. A little too soundly, in fact. You can't seem to wake it, and its body gives signs of illness, so you bring the Pokemon to the PokeClinic. Still, Stunky is grateful that they were found in time.
Congratulations! Each member has been awarded 50 points and a Shiny Stone!
BOUNTY: MYSTERY GHOSTS
Setting out from under a bright clear sky, the morning light soon vanishes as the team ventures into the southern section of the forest. Dense, dark foliage stretches above on gnarled trees, and the air is thick and heavy with unnatural fog. The supernatural disorientation is only further complicated by the stale blanket surrounding them, and with all trail markers useless they can only rely on their instincts.
Unfortunately for the team, the ground is incredibly unstable. Far into their trek, the ground beneath most of the team's feet begins to rumble. While the majority of the team successfully avoids falling, Technus briefly plummets — but only briefly. Being a Rotom, his levitation allows him to quickly recover.
Far below in the revealed cavern, wisps of green and violet can be seen glittering through the dark. Like stars, they illuminate the shadows far below. An obvious trail... and even more obvious bait, but with no other leads, the team must descend into the tunnels.
Once the team enters the tunnels, an ominous presence makes itself known at the end of the trail. The closer they get, the greater the Pressure emitted from their foe, until at last the Pokemon reveals itself. Swirling from a mass of shadows, streaks of purple and green gather and form a huge 'disk' which cackles in front of them.
Spiritomb, the Forbidden Pokemon attacks!
With the increasing pressure weighing upon every Pokemon present, the team soon finds that each attack they make makes them feel weaker and weaker. It may even feel as if the battle is hopeless... but just as all seems lost, Technus gains a second wind, his attack causing the disk to disappear into fading strands of light.
Did they succeed? Is the Spiritomb truly gone? All they can do is make their way back to Bottlecap Bay to make their report...
The battle is won, but not completely finished! Toward the end of the month, we will be randomly choosing a single team to deal the final blow to the Spiritomb - that team will get to decide their ultimate fate. If that is your team, we will reply to this thread on JUNE 24th.
Please fill out the unique form below sometime before the June 24th deadline so that your quest can be considered completed. Please note that you have flexibility and freedom in threading this quest and any related NPCs (the Spiritomb, any Pokemon encountered in the forest on the way over, and hallucinated characters seen by the team).
BOUNTY: MYSTERY GHOSTS (post-thread)

CHARACTERS: Emporio, Anasui, Firepaw
QUEST: Mystery Ghosts
SUMMARY:
when the latter isn't distracted by romance at least. While Firepaw relies on scent to give someone away, Emporio and Anasui would rely on action and dialogue. In particular, Anasui would be quick to attack someone acting suspicious.BOUNTY: MYSTERY GHOSTS
Setting out from under a bright clear sky, the morning light soon vanishes as the team ventures into the southern section of the forest. Dense, dark foliage stretches above on gnarled trees, and the air is thick and heavy with unnatural fog. The supernatural disorientation is only further complicated by stale blanket surrounding them, and with all trail markers useless they can only rely on their instincts.
Unfortunately for the team, there are risks none could have predicted. Far into their trek, something catches their attentions through the fog — a ruin, decayed beyond recognition, looming as a shadow. While the team no doubt recognizes the risks of such a strange view, they have little choice but to investigate. There are no other leads that they can follow, after all.
As they begin to approach the strange ruin, strange voices begin to be heard around them. Faint, and difficult to understand, the closer they move toward the ruins the louder they become. Despite this, they cannot truly make out what words are being said — nor do the voices seem to respond if the team attempts to communicate back.
Eventually making their way into the courtyard of the ruin, the voices abruptly stop. The ground shakes beneath their feet, and all three Pokemon find themselves falling through the floor with varying success in their landing. Fortunately for all of them, no one is injured. The moment they right themselves within the expansive cavern, streaks of green and violet swirl into view to cackle in front of them.
Spiritomb, the Forbidden Pokemon attacks!
Though initially at a disadvantage in the dread ghost's territory, the team quickly rallies together to overpower their foe. After being weakened significantly by Anasui's Fairy Type attacks, Firepaw successfully Bites through the shadowy form! His attack is the final straw needed to reduce Spiritomb's form to dust in the air.
Did they succeed? Is the Spiritomb truly gone? All they can do is make their way back to Bottlecap Bay to make their report...

CHARACTERS: Akechi, Ren, Akari, Flowey
QUEST: Mad Moonlighter
SUMMARY:
- Akechi will have stressed preparations before the mission. To start, he and Ren went to the Archives with Courier Six to do as much preliminary research on ground types as possible. In their research, they came across ancient bear Pokémon as a possible suspect, but were stumped on why it would be utilizing special attacks. Ingo confirmed that the bear Pokémon they uncovered in the archives was likely an Ursaluna, but also stated that it favors physical attacks. However, their research failed to turn up any other convincing candidates for ground types that fit the description (and Akari would be able to confirm the typing). Bears can be bipedal or quadrupedal, if nothing else.
So it's not an ironclad conclusion, but it's a starting point: a possible ground and normal type, which is great for the two grass types on the team, but not so great for a fire type like Akari, but she's still Very Determined.
- Akari's experience with Ursaluna in the Hisui region as well as being part of the Middle Forest exploration will also aid them in navigating the area and knowing what hazards to expect. On top of that, she's battled many frenzied Pokémon as an ordinary human and has the battle and survival experience to make up for her type disadvantage.
She'll be providing tactical insight in addition to her natural skills as a Cyndaquil.
- As part of the preparations, Akechi harvested berries for them to use as reliable healing, especially since Roost puts him at risk for ground type moves. He'll be wearing safety goggles as a precaution, after the failure in the Northern Forest. He'll also be watching Akari very carefully, even offering to carry her with Fly, in addition to hastening the party with Tailwind. Flowey has gathered some Blast Seeds to act as "friendliness pellets," which will give them opportunities to attack from afar and potentially get the jump on their foe.
- Both Ren and Flowey have a type advantage despite their small stature, and both have access to Leech Seed. Flowey likes to spam Growth to mitigate his weaker form, then use Mega Drain to heal himself. He also has access to Ingrain, and we've discussed him discovering Grass Knot in the middle of battle as a way to take advantage of the enemy's larger size.
Ren's boosting move of choice is Hone Claws, with Seed Bomb to deal heavy physical damage and Sucker Punch for some trickery. His Protean ability does render his type fluid, but he'll have specifically activated a grass move to take advantage of its ground resistance.
Leech Seed is important to maintaining Ren's longevity in battle, as he lacks Giga Drain at this time.
- Due to the dangers in the Middle Forest, the team will focus on sticking close together, with Akari and Akechi and Ren and Flowey as duos within the larger group. Knowing the risks of illusions and deception should help to a degree, but Akari's direct experience will be pivotal in keeping the team on track. The team will have also come up with codewords to help them discern each other from any illusions they might encounter, and they've agreed to retreat if they get too injured in their efforts; better that than to end up another snack.
- Since the enemy IS so big, it'll be pertinent for the team to apply a more cautious and evasive strategy. Akechi will likely try to divert some attention from the air and, drop Blast Seeds provided by Flowey. Our idea for how they'd function is like projectile explosives (translating the game's effect outside the constraints of a grid).
- Akari's fire type moves have the added benefit of possible burns, further damaging the enemy in addition to double Leech Seed. Since close-up attacks are so risky when Akechi has a passenger, he'll prioritize Nasty Plot and Air Slash over more physical-focused moves, in addition to maintaining Tailwind for as long as possible and using Scary Face and Leer to further hinder it if he gets the chance.
- Obviously, if it's an Ursaluna Bloodmoon, the chance of Blood Moon is high, requiring very evasive maneuvers. However, Akechi does have a very special trump card: Spite, a move channeling his own spiteful personality. You see, big, dangerous moves are not very fun. Spite severely limits the amount of times an enemy can use a move.
Ergo, limit the enemy's heavy-hitting moves to buy his teammates more time. Even if it's not a Bloodmoon Ursaluna, he'll still utilize this tactic as an added precaution.
- In terms of team dynamics, Ren, Akari, and Akechi have all worked together on quests and have solid team synergy. Akechi and Flowey both encountered each other through the memory share on the TDM, so have a sort of understanding and respect for the other's secrets. Ren and Akari are both friendly people, and all four party members are skilled with quick-thinking and strategies and will have undoubtedly shared ideas for how to approach the mission beforehand, giving them multiple plans to approach the mission, depending on the circumstances.
Their small size is both an advantage and a disadvantage. On one hand, they're very easy to knock around. On the other hand, they can use the terrain to hide, and Akechi's flight gives him and Akari some freedom of movement to pull off some fun team attacks. If nothing else, they'll do their best to at least hinder the target, if they can't outright thwart it.
BOUNTY: MAD MOONLIGHTER
Although the team sets out under the brilliant light of dawn for the middle section of the forest, they are quickly shrouded by darkness. Dense foliage surrounds them, but thick, seemingly living fog covers them even more thickly, carrying a threatening aroma of soil and decaying wood.
Though the team has prepared heavily for the now well documented risk of hallucinations, paranoia quickly sets upon them. While everything they see is as real as real can be, the question constantly lingers on each of their tongues. Did they hear that sound off in the distance? Did they see a shadow through the heavy blanket of white that roves around them?
The farther the team moves into the woods, the more they begin to find signs of massive paw tracks within the dirt. One after another they stretch ahead through the woods, an easy trail to follow... but then, Flowey realizes how close that trail has brought them. Without any time to lose, the group stops in their tracks just in time for a massive shadow to rise up a short distance away.
It is then that something reveals itself even more clearly through the fog. Gleaming scarlet, a shape like the moon comes forth from the shadow. A deep, bellowing roar follows, the light streaking swiftly closer as the battle begins.
The Bloodmoon Beast! The great Ursaluna, empowered by age and brutality!
A brutal battle is quick to follow, with each member of the team trying their best to combat against an opponent who seems to never miss. Their steady blows chip away at the beast, but Akari falls victim to a paralyzing Lick. Forced to choose between their safety and a potentially brutal loss, the team quickly retreats while they still can.
Though the beast escaped, the battle was a clear Success. In bringing the report of their fight back to Bottlecap Bay, a better understanding of a dire threat can be made. But is the threat even still out there? That Ursaluna was awfully injured by the end, after all...
The battle is won, but not completely finished! Toward the end of the month, we will be randomly choosing a single team to deal the final blow to the Ursaluna - that team will get to decide their ultimate fate. If that is your team, we will reply to this thread on JUNE 24th.

CHARACTERS: Firepaw, Dark Heart
QUEST: Mad Moonlighter
SUMMARY: Oh boy, these two idiots are putting themselves in danger! They are probably going to fail this mission, but it's going to be very funny if they succeed.
First of all, Firepaw and Dark Heart have no history of working together on missions, or any experience in the Middle Forest - the best they have going for them is that Firepaw really, really likes Dark Heart and trusts him implicitly. Also, Firepaw is weak to Ground. Dark Heart is not, but neither of them have any moves that are particularly helpful here. What they do have is Firepaw's comfort and experience in being Litten-shaped and his willingness to fight things several times his own size (plus, experience doing so with A.B.A.)
Firepaw has a fair amount of experience dealing with the fog, between the TDM threads and his outings into the Southern Forest and the ocean, but the best equipment he has against illusions is just the paranoid instinct to Bite anything that looks suspicious. Dark Heart is a lot more familiar with illusions, so between the two of them they even out to "unlikely to die before they get to the boss fight".
Also, in terms of his ability to deal with terrain shifts, Firepaw has cat-like reflexes and can reliably jump away from shifting areas / climb trees to get away from danger. Dark Heart on the other hand, is much more susceptible to sudden drops and things like that, although they are likely both very suspicious of unsteady ground.
One last note: neither of them are able to carry the other, so if one of them gets knocked out they will both need to be rescued. Especially since Firepaw absolutely refuses to leave Dark Heart to his fate.
Though the two appear by all rights to begin at a disadvantage, an incredible stroke of luck strikes the moment they enter the fog. Where typically they would be struck by illusions, or mood swings, the fog almost seems aware that such tricks will no longer be so successful — instead granting visions of future danger.
Once aware of what the fog is doing for them, the duo makes quick progress in navigating the woods. Having no trouble with either wild Pokemon or their surroundings, they eventually catch the scent of blood upon the air. Heavy and metallic, the scent grows stronger the more closely they follow the trail, until at last it becomes almost too much to bear. And just in time, as Firepaw realizes how close the source of their scent trail must be. Without any time to lose, both stop in their tracks just in time to see a massive shadow rise up a short distance away.
It is then that something reveals itself even more clearly through the fog. Gleaming scarlet, a shape like the moon comes forth from the shadow. Despite their proximity however, they have clearly not been spotted — and taking full advantage, are able to strike an ambush against their foe.
The Bloodmoon Beast! The great Ursaluna, empowered by age and brutality!
Caught off guard by their first strike, one would expect for their success to be overwhelming in its power, but Ursaluna's peat moss coat proves an incredible defense. While their attacks clearly whittle away at the Pokemon, they find themselves growing just as weary... and there are more Pokemon than just Ursaluna in these woods. Forced to choose between their safety and a potentially brutal loss, the two quickly retreat while they can.
Though the beast escaped, the battle was a clear Success. In bringing the report of their fight back to Bottlecap Bay, a better understanding of a dire threat can be made. But is the threat even still out there? That Ursaluna was awfully injured by the end, after all...

SUMMARY: Flamebringer teamed up with Anasui because both wanted to get the quest done and the two of them assumed the other was competent. They were right. Both of them are big, strong Pokemon and are happy to lug things around. However, notably, they're both lone wolves, so they spend their time working in antisocial silence.
----------------------------
PLAYERS: Pyra, Mome and Medli
CHARACTERS: Anasui, Ring-Spirit and Sanji
QUEST: Mystery Ghosts
SUMMARY:
- Despite whatever happens in the Southern Woods, Anasui wants to have a round 2 against the stupid ghost in the forest.
- He wants a round 2 so badly that he ends up teaming up with RS, someone who he was previously fighting with. Emporio told both of them to chill and instead of interpreting that as ‘hey don’t murder each other’, they both naturally assume that means "go on a mission together." So ghost hunt.
- Sanji is also there. Neither of them have worked with him before but the guy claims to have just been on a haunted ghost island before arriving at Bottlecap. That counts as a qualification, right?
- More importantly, he'll know what to look for as possible possessions. And he has salt to throw at ghosts.
- Anasui has been to the South Woods before with Firepaw and Emporio. Sanji and RS have not. He is ready to grab the two if they fall prey to illusions and put them on his back if they wander too far apart.
- All the party members are observant and cautious when it comes to missions/being serious so they’ll be on their guard. Additionally, having some association to the paranormal, all three members of the party aren't easily scared/used to dealing with random bullshit.
- Anasui will also brief the others on the illusions/hallucinations and attack first if given the opportunity. To avoid pitfalls, he will try to kick stones to test the ground ahead.
- RS is familiar and comfortable with "evil spirits" so he won't be easily intimidated. He also can use Shadow Sneak to sneak past the unstable terrain.
-Sanji has fire to provide light for himself and Anasui. He also has snacks to keep them at full health. Both he and Anasui have bags. He also will suggest codewords to stop try snap people out of the memory fog.
- In terms of offence, Anasui can use a flying move and a fairy move (Disarming voice) but is weak to ghost and dark moves being a psychic type. However, RS is ghost/fairy and will hopefully cover for those weaknesses with Shadow Sneak. Sanji is probably neutral to whatever the forest throws at them and has Ember to hit ghost types and Disable to potentially shut down particularly devastating moves.
- If the ghost is indeed a Spiritomb aka a conglomeration of evil souls, there's a good chance that RS will misidentify the Spiritomb as his absent family. RS will try to talk-only to the Spiritomb. Anasui in particular will dismiss this because they weren't part of arrivals. This may or may not lead to a fight.
-Sanji is there to play peacekeeper though! He can match Anasui’s hot headed-ness but is also quite sympathetic, and would hear out what Ring Spirit is trying to do too. He really can keep a level head where it matters, and make plans.

QUEST: Mad Moonlighter
SUMMARY: NOTE - This quest is being performed under the assumption that it follows after another Moonlight Madness bounty performed by Akira. We ask that this be kept in mind regarding the notes below!

CHARACTERS: Flowey, Lusamine, Siffrin
QUEST: Bounty: Mob-y Dozo
SUMMARY:
- There's going to be two big challenges here: none of these Pokemon are Flying or Water type, so they won't be able to chase Dondozo/Tatsugiri out into the deep water if they retreat. (Siffrin can swim quite well and has definitely been swimming in the ocean, but... not Water type well!) And...
- Flowey and Siffrin really don't get along, to put it mildly. How did they end up on a quest together.
- While they won't necessarily be trying to outright kill each other while on a quest ([flowey voice] unless??) they ARE going to be antagonizing each other, and their teamwork is going to struggle. Lusamine is here to keep the peace... maybe... hopefully...
- On the bright side, Siffrin and Flowey are both super-effective against the Dondozo, so that should be very helpful! (And Siffrin will have learned Play Rough from Shoka in a previous quest, which would be useful against the Tatsugiri!)
- If the Tatsugiri happens to be directing the Dondozo to cause status effects, Siffrin has the Guts ability and will start hitting much harder!
- In return, Siffrin will be using Electroweb to slow the duo down, as well as general electric moves trying to inflict paralysis.
- If a team member does end up in the water and in a dangerous position, Siffrin will use Volt Switch to swap in and bank on their swimming ability to get them out. (Perhaps unwisely!)
- Flowey has Ingrain, which should at minimum keep him from getting pulled off the coast/eaten (and if he can hang on to others with his vines, can prevent them from getting eaten too).
- Flowey also has Worry Seed - while unfortunately this won't help with Tatsugiri's Commander (if only...) it can cancel out Dondozo's ability... and prevent it from using Rest/Sleep Talk!
- Otherwise, Flowey's strategy will be to repeatedly use Growth to power up while Siffrin distracts the Dondozo, then start using Mega Drain.
- Lusamine has Protect to help defend the others (particularly while Flowey is using Growth) and Leer to lower the Dondozo's defenses for Siffrin... and can just go feral mongoose on the Tatsugiri if she gets a chance. (Strong Jaw ability, yowch!)
- Siffrin and Lusamine participated in team-building exercises on the May TDM and would have earned the "stronger when defending teammates" accessory!

CHARACTERS: Firepaw and Guilmon
QUEST: Heads or Tails
SUMMARY: Firepaw has some experience from taking a missing quest before, so he's going to try running a "good cop bad cop" routine but it's really more like "good cop, gooder cop". They both believe you have good intentions, please just tell us where Zweilous is, etc. Also, Firepaw and Guilmon both have experience with scent-tracking, so once they find something that carries Zweilous' smell they should have an easy time tracking them down.

CHARACTERS: Anasui, Ren
QUEST: The best offence
SUMMARY: Anasui and Ren aren't exactly on the best terms, after how they met. Still, when Mightyena-san asked for help, they ended up working together. Anasui is Emporio's friend, so Ren is willing to give him another chance, and perhaps they can come out of this with a better understanding of one another.

CHARACTERS: Firoza, Akechi, and Ren
QUEST: BRICK BY BRICK
SUMMARY: Just some little guys determined to help get stones and mud/grass/sticks together...Firoza and Ren would be good at digging, and Akechi would definitely be able to help find bits to incorporate into making homemade bricks.
PLAYERS: Elaine and Mega
CHARACTERS: Firoza and Akechi
QUEST: THE BEST OFFENSE
SUMMARY: Firoza is both strong and stubborn! She can help fix walls! And Akechi has the advantage of flight, where he can see from above what areas might be lacking and need reinforcement. They'd make a good team patching things up that might otherwise be overlooked. :3
PLAYERS: Elaine, Bre, and Mauyn
CHARACTERS: Firoza, Laios, and Emmett
QUEST: HEADS OR TAILS
SUMMARY: Between the three of them (Female Nidoran are known for having a keen sense of smell, Laios is a Dog, and Emmett is a Ghost Fox), if they can get an idea of Zweilous's scent from Stunky, that might give them a good head start...also, given Emmett's familiarity with Pokemon from the Unova region, he'd know what sort of tracks they ought to look for, what a Zweilous even looks like...Firoza and Laios are just down to help find someone, they're lucky they have an expert along with them. Hopefully they didn't go into the forest, but if they did, Firoza should know the Canopy and the close by areas well enough by now that they wouldn't immediately get lost...

CHARACTERS: Akechi, Ren, A.B.A
QUEST: Heads or Tails
SUMMARY: A.B.A and Ren are both dealing with their own injuries and pains and Akechi is the chaperone to make sure they don't overdo it or get off track. They've all worked together before, so there shouldn't be too many issues, at least.

CHARACTERS: Anasui, Laios, Flamebringer, Sanji
QUEST: MOB-Y DOZO
Having worked with all these guys before in some capacity, Anasui is relatively confident that their team can take on an overgrown fish. In particular, Laios and Anasui have fought together before.
◦ Sanji is packing food and wearing a raincoat if he can find the supplies for it. The team will likely be at full strength when they get through the fog.
◦ To get through the fog, they’re going to rely on Sanji using fire to light their way/dispel the fog momentarily and also Flamebringer’s experience with disasters and inherent ability as an Absol to predict them to keep them safe. Additionally, they have Laios’ nose to try sniff through any illusions and get them to the ocean.
◦ In terms of types, Anasui is weak to Dark and Sanji is weak to Water Type moves. However, defensively, Flamebringer resists Dark Type moves. Additionally, Laios is an Electric Type and is super-effective against Water. Anasui also has a fairy move to hit Tatsugiri should it appear.
◦ Flamebringer is cautious of the open ocean due to its infested state back on Terra. He will be encouraging his teammates to keep their distance from the water when possible, with the exception of Laios since the water should conduct his electric moves. He has experience fighting the Seaborn, aquatic enemies that inflict Nervous Impariment, a condition which stuns the afflicted for a period of time- So he will be keeping an eye out for status effects, dragging those affected away from the water and their enemies.
◦ Tatsugiri are tacticians but so is Anasui. After some research, Anasui became aware that he is a Paldean Bird and will make it part of his plan. He wants to play bait and keep the heat off the others – allowing them to close the distance between Dondozo and them and attack.
◦ During the rainy period, Laios spent a lot of time in the Archives studying Pokémon, including Dondozo and Tatsugiri, after exploring the coast to rescue Tangela. He will be familiar with their strategy as a duo, and will encourage his team to try to separate them if possible. He is also particularly interested in getting to the Tatstugiri for himself and Sanji to use for later.
◦ Sanji also studied with Laios to compare what he knows about Sea Kings (giant sea monsters in his world) with big water Pokemon. He’s not afraid of this monster, but is aware of his type disadvantage and frustrated he can't just kick this one to death and serve it up for dinner
◦ Anasui will be taking advantage of his move, Ally Swap, a move that will have him and one member of his team swap places. This is ideal for making sure he doesn’t take a Dark Type move to the face and, more importantly, making sure his teammates are safe. Anasui’s priority is making sure Sanji doesn’t get blasted by the water and will be ready to swap at a moment’s notice.
◦ Sanji is ready to play support (Despite being a frontliner). He’s loud and fast (and can make himself VERY annoying) and will use Quick Attacks and Tail Whips to lower defense and provide openings for his teammates. If there are illusions, he’ll focus on dispelling them so everyone else can focus on the big guy.
◦ Laios’s main electric-type move is Discharge, a widespread move that can also hit allies if they’re too close. He will use it sparingly, opting to wait for opportunities where he can get closer to Dondozo by himself to strike. During the fight, after watching Anasui use Ally Swap enough, he might be able to pull off Volt Switch to bring in Flamebringer or Anasui closer to the target.
◦ When possible Flamebringer takes the brunt of Dark type moves, he tries to block them with his horn, like you would a sword. Between his own personal tenacity and his higher HP stat he’s able to tank more than a normal Absol would. He’s prioritizing keeping Anasui and Sanji safe due to the disadvantages they are facing in this fight.
◦ When Tatsugiri is exposed in any way- Flamebringer will focus his attacks on it.
◦ Should an ally need an escape plan, Laios can also use Roar to push away Dondozo for a bit to let his team regroup. Also, while Laios is more built for running than swimming, his legs are strong enough to keep going for a while if needed, especially to help pull anyone away from danger in the water.
◦ Anasui will also swap with someone else if THEY are going to get swallowed by the Dondozo. If it’s him, he’ll let himself get vored. Mostly so he can be up close and personal with the Tatsugiri. You’re in here with him, punk.
◦ In the case of Anasui being swallowed, or any party member being knocked out, Flamebringer will use retaliate.
